Farm Boy Lesson

What a great time to teach your littles ones about animals on the farm. All the spring baby animals are just so cute. My son is a very hands on learn, most of these ideas are hands on and will keep your little ones busy with loads of fun.

I am going to make a farm sensory bin with corn kernel, add a barn and farm animals. We will using this box for him to play in and for him to count the farm animals. The second sensory bin I will be making is feed the animals. I will take 3 tin cans and taping animal's faces to the top of the can. We will use bird seed for the animal food. I will make flash cards with animal pictures and how scoops each animal get to practice counting.

We will be painting corn on the cob and rolling it across paper and painting tractor wheels, then rolling it across paper. The games will play are farm bingo, pigs in the mud alphabet match https://thekindergartenconnection.com/pigs-mud-alphabet-match/, matching baby animals with momma https://thestemlaboratory.com/?s=farm+animal+baby. I will be making farm animal measuring cards and he will use blocks to measure the animals.

The science experiment we will do is jumping corn https://sandboxacademy.com/jumping-corn. I will be using color by number farm coloring pages https://ecoloringpage.com/color-by-numbers-horse-in-the-pasture-and-a-barn-coloring-page-for-kids-printable/. I will have my son draw a picture of a farm and write a sentence about it.

The books we will read are Pete the Cat Old MacDonald Had a Farm, Down on the Farm, and I spy on the Farm. We will also sing Old MacDonald had a Farm.

Blessing,

April
