I found this idea online and I love this idea. I cannot wait to try this with my children next month. This is a simple lesson to tell your children about God, his love, and sharing his love with others.

What you need:

a paper towel, a ballpoint pen, a red marker, and a cup with a small amount of water

Draw a heart towards the bottom of the paper towel. Talk to your children how without God our hearts are empty, Fill in the heart with a red marker. Talk to them about how when we accept Jesus into our hearts, he fills us with his love. Draw two to three hearts right above the first heart. Talk to them about how there are other hearts in the world that are in need of God's love to. Talk about how God wants us to share the love He gave us with others. Then place the bottom of the paper towel in the water. Talk about how the water is God, and we are able to share his love. As the water is absorbed, you should see the red marker moving up to the other hearts, filling them. Talk about how we can share love. Mention some ways we can share God's love, but tell them its with God's help, not of our own strength. This is a great lesson to teach your children or if you teach Sunday School.

What you need:

a pot

dirt

seeds

Grow a plant with your child, start from a seed. Let your child take care of it, as your child takes care of the plant and watches it grow, explain to them how the plant needs sunlight and water to grow. Make a connection to them about how we need to be good, talk about sin and how to ask God to give them of their sins. Also explain how God grows inside of them, that God's love never runs out.

Blessing,

April
