St. Patrick's day is just right around the corner. We will doing a St. Patrick's theme from March 1st until March 19th. We will be doing a lot of hands on activities with numbers and letters. All supplies can be found at your local dollar store.

Clove coins counting with numbers: Supplies: 2 bags of clove coins A sheet of green paper A marker A sandwich bag scissors

Write numbers on paper then cut them into squares. Have your child match the number of coins to the number. You can do it like a graph but I found it was easier to cut them.

Writing bin: Supplies: Green sand Gold sprinkles Sandwich container Flash cards(numbers&ABCs)

Put about half a cup of green sand & gold sprinkles in sandwich container. Have your child write with his finger to make letters and numbers in the sand.

Clove coins ABCs matching: Supplies: 2 Sheet of paper Marker Double sided tape scissors

On one sheet of paper make 26 coin circles and write lowercase letters in them. With the other sheet cut 26 little squares and write uppercase letter on them then tape it to the coins. Have your child match the letters. You could also do a green sand bin and hide the letter coins in the bin. Have you child search for the coins and match them.

Rainbow colors: This is a great time to teach or review your childs colors. You could use paint or markers and have your child draw or paint a rainbow at the end of the pot of gold. Talk about each color.

Enjoy this St. Patrick's day with your child.

Blessings,

April
