The first week of my fitness journey

On November 8th, I was told I needed to lose 73 pounds. Oh my how I am going to do that! That day my diet was pretty much shot. I already had two honey buns that morning.

That afternoon we took a trip to the store for fruits and vegetables. A lot of fruits and vegetables are under 100 calories. They are great for snacks. If you are a person that likes a bed time snack I would definitely recommend eating a fruit or a vegetable. I grab pickles they were only 5 calories each. I learn very quickly that no calorie ranch was very gross so I found a ranch that was 30 calories just to use in my salad.

As I started the first week I downloaded the lose it app. I recommend using an app that you can track what you are eating and your exercises. I also downloaded a steptracker. To help me keep track of how many steps a day I took and how many calories I burned by walking.

Then I changed my diet completely. I cut out all junk food and soda the next day. I had a few weak moments where I had some sweets but I watched how much I ate of it. The first week I ate a lot of chicken salads for dinner. For lunch I would do tuna sandwiches(low calorie bread is awesome). I have never been a big breakfast person so I would eat an egg, plan pancake a rice cake or fruit. They are tons are low calorie recipes out there but for me a lot them are stuff I wouldn't eat. You do not have to change your diet around if you do not want to just cut back and watch how much you eat.

I never been a person that really exercised. I started out with just doing squats, jumping racks, walking and stretching. Find exercises that work for you. There are tons of workout videos online and workout apps. If you love to dance Zumba is a great one.

I hope some of these tips help you out on your weight lost journey. Remember it's okay to have an oops, just keep going and never give up.

Blessings,

April
